About Me

Hi! I'm Megan Forrester and I am from Phoenix, Arizona. I just wrapped up my graduate program at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Previously, I was in Orange, California, where I received my bachelor's degree in communication studies at Chapman University. And here's why I became a journalist:

Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to be a writer. Granted, in the beginning it was just fantasy tales about mermaids and unicorns, but I always wanted to share more stories with the world. And that is still what I strive for today. Even though my clips these days are not written on pink construction paper with Crayola crayons, I still hope to create wonder and quirk with each story I tell. The ability to share someone's story with the world is what fills my heart with joy, which is why the field of journalism is the bread to my butter. Whether it's highlighting a local business, profiling an up-and-coming singer or reviewing a piece of entertainment, I can never get enough of it. Whether I am conducting breaking news coverage, crafting a long-form feature or even out on a photojournalism assignment, I am eager to plunge headfirst into the field. It's been a while since I wrote about mermaids, princess and unicorns, but I am so grateful for them. That creativity led me to journalism, which is the greatest gift I have ever received.
